Castelli Puffy Unlimited 2 Jakke, Blue austin / blue

Fordeler

• Polartec Alpha Direct insulation balances warmth and breathability well for variable-intensity gravel riding.
• Windproof microfiber outer plus DWR sheds wind and light precipitation effectively.
• Targeted stretch (Nano Flex panels) improves mobility and on-bike fit.
• Low weight (≈243 g) and packable for layering and changeable conditions.
• Functional storage: chest/rear zip pockets plus two large rear pockets with flaps suit gravel/adventure needs.
• Full-length YKK Vislon zip with U-pull is glove-friendly and reliable.
• Works across a broad cool-weather range (approx. 2–14 °C) depending on base layer.

Ting å vurdere

• Not waterproof; DWR only handles light rain/drizzle and will wet out in sustained precipitation.
• Insulated construction is less aerodynamic than race-oriented shells and can feel warm at higher intensities near the top of the temperature range.
• Microfiber face and exposed Alpha Direct can snag or show wear with brush or pack straps over time.
• Ventilation options are limited beyond the main zip (no dedicated vents).
• Castelli fits often run snug; some riders may need to size up for layering.
• No hood (for riders wanting helmet-compatible hooded protection).

Oppsummering & anbefalinger

Castelli’s Puffy Unlimited 2 combines a windproof, DWR-treated shell with Polartec Alpha Direct to deliver active insulation that stays warm without trapping excess moisture. Storage and stretch panels align with gravel/adventure needs, and the low weight aids packability. Trade-offs include limited weatherproofing versus a rain jacket, modest aerodynamics, and typical snug Castelli fit. Well-suited to cool, changeable conditions where breathability and wind protection are priorities.

Bruksområder & tips

Best for women gravel/adventure cyclists needing a highly breathable, windproof, lightly water-repellent insulated layer for cool conditions. Ideal for mixed-intensity rides, long autumn/spring outings, and winter layering in dry to showery weather. Not suited to heavy rain or high-intensity racing where a lighter, more aerodynamic shell is preferred.
