Shimano 105 CS-R7101 12s Kassett, Silver, 12s

Fordeler

• Hyperglide+ ramping provides consistent, reliable shifting under load
• Broad 11–34T range suitable for flats and steep climbs
• Fits standard Shimano 11-speed HG freehub bodies as well as Shimano 12-speed road freehubs
• Steel cogs on alloy carriers balance durability and weight
• Measured weight around 360 g is reasonable for the class
• Good long-term wear characteristics reported versus lighter alloy-cog alternatives
• Widely reported trouble-free setup with 12-speed Shimano road derailleurs and HG+ chain

Ting å vurdere

• Heavier than Ultegra/Dura‑Ace 12-speed cassettes
• Limited ratio options at this level (11–34T here; 11–36T requires a different model)
• Requires Shimano 12-speed HG+ chain and compatible 12-speed road drivetrain; not backward compatible with 11-speed derailleurs/shifters
• Noise can be marginally higher than higher-tier cassettes under certain loads
• Steel construction trades absolute weight savings for durability

Oppsummering & anbefalinger

Shimano’s 105 CS‑R7101 12-speed 11–34T cassette delivers reliable Hyperglide+ shifting, broad gearing, and broad freehub compatibility, making it a practical upgrade or replacement for 12‑speed Shimano road setups, especially on wheels with 11‑speed HG bodies. It prioritizes durability and value over low weight, with the main trade-offs being mass and limited ratio choices at this tier.

Bruksområder & tips

Best for road cyclists, endurance riders, and mixed-terrain commuters seeking a durable 12-speed road cassette with wide range that fits an 11-speed HG freehub. Suitable for training, club rides, and hilly routes; less ideal for weight-focused racing builds.
